Alba’s Palace: an abandoned house “walkthrough”
My Dad discovered this house; he drives by it on his way to work. He stopped in one day and found some Edison tubes, which are cylindrical objects that preceded the record. He took me there and after five minutes the property owner was dragging us out again; the first time I’ve been caught at housing. “The floor isn’t safe. If you get hurt it’s bad. You’d sue me and blah blah…” Dad: “Sue you? Goodness no! We’re just interested parties. Tell me, how old is this house?” Etc. While dad learned the history I took video in through the windows.
The owner seemed quite baffled as to how “get off my property” became a conversation.
So there it is, abandoned for forty years, cosy and gorgeous and all alone.

@edisonphonographfan I beleive that it was the cylinders. My dad did grab one on a previous visit-shhhhhhhhhhh- It was a long grey tube. It was labeled with the recording name but I cant recall what it was…but it seemed to be in good shape! Nothing to play it on, though.

u found edison tubes did they have the cylinder or just the box luckey to just find them u can check out my channel and listen to my collection of edison machines and cylinders did u find a machine did u take the cylindersi would have lol
