Can I keep items abandoned on my property?

If an inanimate object of any kind, be it a ball or a car, is abandoned anonymously on my property can I keep it? Whoever left it was clearly and knowingly trespassing and hasn’t returned for days. If someone does return to claim an item, am I legally obligated to return it?
If you had had the item in your possession for 30 days it’s considered Abandoned Property and you can legally claim ownership. If it’s a vehicle, you need to file for a salvage title.

You need to wait a reasonable time (say thirty days) before you claim anything is yours. And make sure it has no personal details or hand it to the police to make sure it isnt evidence in a crime.
