You go to your County Recorder’s Office web site. Recorded document searches are free. You only pay if you want an official document mailed to you.
Do a google search for your county and recorder’s office.
Depending upon the county and state you are located in, the document may be called different things. In Arizona, which is a Deed of Trust state, the document is a Notice of Trustee’s Sale (or N/TR Sale). If you are in a Mortgage state, it would be different.
In Arizona notices are required to be made 90 days in advance of the sale. So search by date and only go back 3 months. In Arizona, I would only search for sales that will be coming up fairly soon. There is an overwhelming number of sales and the newer notices may be restructured or postponed. If you plan to attend the sale, be sure to call the trustee’s office before you go. Most sales don’t take place when originally scheduled.
